History of mystery of the silbon

Mysteries

                                                          Legend .The Silbon

                                            The Silbon

In the Venezuelan plains known as The Silbón and narrative says that is a tall, thin, measuring about six feet.

The present description who have seen and heard, they say a man is the disproportionate high, overhanging walking the treetops whistle emits a creepy and has a sack full of bones that makes them sound like a rattle of Easter.

The legend says that the Silbón is the soul in torment of a son who killed dad and ate the offal (ie liver, heart and bofe). The boy was raised Tonec (pampered), no respect for anyone. One day he told his father he wanted to eat deer entrails. His father went hunting to please but soon returned. In view of this, the boy went to look and saw that brought nothing, could not hunt deer, kill him, he pulled out the viscera, and brought his mother to be cooked. Since there is no softening, the mother suspected were "offal" of her husband. Asking the boy, this confessed the truth.

He immediately cursed him "pa 'to' life '. His brother Juan chased him with a "foreman" sounded a gourd and chili dogs sicced "TURECO" until the end of the chases and bites the heels.

In the eastern plains of Colombia is known as the singer, is said to be drifting terror of a lost soul of a party animal and womanizer man who died alone and abandoned, and seeks the company of someone who rides after hours of the night the paths of the plain.

Others say, chasing women who are pregnant, this gives a long whistle whistling and sharp penetrating through the ears and at the same time feels an intense cold that freezes people. There is the belief that when sharp whistles it is a woman who is going to die, but if instead the whistle is thick, is a man or a friend dies

                                           aunt and cousin

  Venezuelan family

       Introduction
The venezuelan family has a value that goes further than usual and unavoidable reunions, happy moments  and the solution of the problems that they usually confront, the value is builted and it grows when each of the members assume with responsabilitiy it´s role in their family, attempting the welfare, development  and happiness of all members of the family.
In Venezuela there is too many families, there isn´t an exact percentage, all the members of a family are: parents, sisters, brothers, grandfathers, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

On this year in Venezuela are all types of family situations, below you can find a percentage of these situations:
Divorced there is a 67%.
Married there is a 52%.
Single there is a 25%.
Widow there is a 40%.
Widower there is a 45%.
Unmarried there is a 47%.
This is the percentage that exist in our country, as you can see we have more divorced families then anything else.

Insecurity in Venezuela

The robbery is a problema that we have in our country ¨Venezulea¨,  I doubt  that in another country you can get  assaulted so many times like here in this country.

I bet in Europe you don´t have this problem, because it´s unlikely that you suffer a robbery situation, in those countries the security is very important and  for the government the people is their main interest.

In Venezuela the people or the political that wants to govern only thinks therse´s a good chance to rule a country without thinking in the people they govern.

It doesn´t seem posible that living in a rich country there are so many poor families and the insecurity is killing us day by day.

Chinita holiday

                            Chinita

It´s historical origin is  because the tradition tells that on the shore of the Maracaibo lake a litlle plank appeared and an old lady found it, which took to her house. In the elapsed days, on November 18 of 1709, the old lady heared some blows on the wall of her house where the litlle plank was hanging. At first, she ignored this noise, but they bécame louder and persistent, she decided to approach to the noisy place and she saw that on the plank the Chinquinquira Virgin appeared and a shiny light came from her. In the presence of this phenomenon, the old lady went out to the street and started to shout: Miracle, Miracle! Since then  a monument of the Chiquinquira Virgen was builted in the exact place of the lady´s house, which was located in front of the Basilica.
Here in Maracaibo we love this fair, I still don´t know anyone that doesn´t like it, because there´s too much celabration, we have parties everywhere to suit  all tastes, even in churchs we have celabration, even though the people take out the monument of the virgin of the Basilica and walk her to some places of the city.

                                                                 Dawn in the basilica
Some people have their own celebration, they have parties or dinners with their family and freinds, and that is their way to venerate the Chiquinquira Virgin.
We have  a lots of custums , we start to decorate our house with a lots of lights, we have family reunions and eat ¨Hallacas¨ this is our typical food and all this together is the beginning of Chritsmas too. We have lot´s of activities, on the weekends we can go dancing or visiting freinds and relatives. In Maracaibo there is an Avenue which name is Bella Vista, that the Mayor´s office of Maracaibo city decorates, it´s really beautiful and everyboby enjoys it, and all this begins with the Virgin of Chiquinquira Fair.
This fair has a big religious significance to us, because I think there is no Maracaibo citizen that doesn´t believe in Chiquinquira, everybody says that she does miracles, and thats very true.
There is a commercial significance too, in this Bella Vista Avenue and in all the city, in Malls and in stores, and even in front of the churches you can buy a little monument of the virgin, mostly the  tourist, this is one of the main souvenir of our state.

                                                                      Basilica

Crime story

                                                               History of a robbery

When I was twenty four years old, I was very poor and I needed money, one day I decided to a rob a bank,

Break in and get all the money to solve my problems, so I commited the robbery, but I didn`t get lucky because the police.

Catched me and made a lots of questions, they ask me if  I had an alibi to save me, but I didn't and they knew I commited a crime , I made a confession and they arrested a criminal.

´´ That was me´´. So now I'm thirty four years old, I'm free, and now I know there is a law that we have to respect.

What food means to your culture.

                                                                      Pabellon criollo

The food is very important for our culture because it´s something that represents us as venezuelan, we have different types of typical dishes like the ¨Pabellon Criollo¨or ¨Venezuelan Pabellon¨, it´s one of the most representative typical dishes of our kitchen. Full of colors and a variety of  flavors, it possibly evokes the unoin of the ethnic group that integrates our town, it has the unique and warm aroma.
The Pabellon is a dish that has joined us along our history, it has grown with us, with little variations in different region of Venezuela, but always keeping the unique and pure essences of the national dish par excellence, it´s representative of the latin american cuisine, it is difficult to specify the origin but at the end of century XIX it was  recognized in Caracas.
It is composed of White rice, Shredded Beef (carne mechada), black beans and slices of ripe plantain, which are fried, all arranged in a dish standing out it´s color, aroma and flavor. A balance is created in this dish in all it´s components, as well as in it´s color, as in it´s flavor, each one is an important part of the venezuelan culture.
Also, in some cities, they like to add other ingredients, like in Caracas, they add egg. The Pabellon is a very special dish for our culture, sometimes in parties, reunions and celebrations it is given as a main dish and we, as venezuelan love this dish because it is delicious.

Comparison of restauranes

                                                                     Mi ternera

Restaurant, an environment by day different by night. By day you can hear soft music and by night the music is varied. Mi Ternerita, is a  Meat restaurant with liquor and rumba.( Since also it is known by these qualities) a Saturday evening, in an elopement of the diet, and better than that you can eat a good parilla and a salad of lomito. The environment is very pleseant, it´s expensive but you can eat well.

                                         caribe concert

On tuesday: pipers, on wednesday: caribbean talent show, on thursday: free bar! on friday: thematic. on saturdays: megarumberos. on sundays give teats, bollitos and entrails! The difference is that Caribe Concert is an outdoor environment and also pleasant, but the prices are varied because of the different types of food. On holidays it´s a little more expensive than normal days; there are always diferent surprises that you can enjoy.

This exercise seems to me very important because it allows me to develope the knowledge of English
